Ciervo Blanco Book Club organizes in Madrid a book discussion in English about the novel ‘Halsey Street’ by Naima Coster
This is a free book discussion in English. The only requirement is to have read the book!
My debut novel, Halsey Street, is a story of family, loss, and renewal, set in a rapidly gentrifying Brooklyn. …I write fiction and nonfiction (but deeply admire poets), and I believe that stories should be emotionally messy, hard, and beautiful, as life is. I tend to write about the inner lives of women, family dynamics, memory, race, class, migration, art making, trauma and recovery, love and desire, and our attempts—troubled, brave, wild—to find connection.
